Unlocking Creativity: 6 Sundays

Join us over 6 Sundays as we invite you to return home, to your unique creative potential.

Description:

Being human is being creative.

We arrive in the world with an innate capacity for imagination and creative expression.

We dream, we play, we invent, we make art, music, we write, and we create a life, a career, and relationships.

Our capacity for creativity is abundant.

And yet, like many innate capacities,

our creativity is something we can lose sight of,

or even forget is there.

A child draws freely.

Imagines new worlds,

and is easily awestruck.

Whereas an adult often says

“I can’t draw, I’m not an artist.”

“This is the way it is.”

Or no longer notices the wildflowers blooming on their way to work.

And yet our capacity for creativity remains.

Waiting to be unlocked.

When it is,

When we reengage in the life of expression

We aren’t just creating,

We are embracing what it means to be human.

And often ,

We feel more fully alive.

“Openness to experience is the #1 personality trait of creative people across all fields.

So as far as bravery, and the courage to keep going, and all that stuff goes…

Creativity is actually more about not fearing the unknown.

The unknown within yourself, but the unknown anywhere.

Internally or externally, you don’t fear it. Quite the opposite.

We’ve found that creative people not only embrace it, but that they are passionate about the unknown.”

(-Dr. Scott Barry Kaufman, CL Episode 7)
