From Fear to Love: A 6-Month Journey
Join me on a 6-month journey in uncovering how we can open our hearts and minds to live a more expansive life.
A life that brings us alive.
A life that is driven primarily by curiosity, wonder, and love (vs. certainty, control, and fear).
Description:
There is a different experience of life available to us.
One where we can learn to feel fundamentally okay, regulated
And ultimately can meet our life from a place of openness, curiosity, wonder and love -
Regardless of the challenges that arise.
Over 6 months we will explore this possibility together as we engage with insights, experiential practices, reflection and journaling, poetry, and a deep discussion that centers around three major themes:
Embracing impermanence
Leaning into mystery and wonder
Loving our life as fully as we can

“The people I’ve been with, in and around their dying, have two big questions:
Am I loved?
And, did I love well?
If those are the two big questions at the end life, why aren’t they the most important questions now?”
-Frank Ostaseski (Episode 26)
THE CONTENT
-
Questions we’ll explore
How can we learn to:
Relax into uncertainty?
Loosen the grip of control?
Find more balance and ease in the midst of volatility and change?
Work with anxiety in ways that allow us to thrive?
Feel okay internally regardless of what’s happening externally?
-
Questions we’ll explore:
How can we:
Begin to notice and experience more beauty?
Tap into our innate creativity in the face of uncertainty and change?
Experience more wonder and curiosity in everyday life and relationships?
Broaden our perspective to see more possibility in our lives and our work?
Open our heart and mind to live a more expansive, joyful life?
-
Questions we’ll explore
How can we:
Find the strength we need to respond rather than react?
Find our way back to each other in the face of isolation, and division?
Deepen our sense of connection to ourselves, each other, nature, and life itself.
Practice opening the heart so that we can say “I loved well” at the end?

PART 1: Embracing Impermanence
Coming soon…
Arrivals and Departures
A poem by Joshua Steinfeldt
Like the tide
There is an ebb and flow that connects us all
It’s in the rising sun
The changing leaves
And the ones we love taking their last breath.
In the arrivals
When the snow melts
When the wildflowers gather
And the hummingbirds return to the garden
We choose to look
Lingering
On what’s beautiful
Possibility,
hope,
Life’s gentle reminders
of the extraordinary opportunity
each moment brings
to begin
again.
When we like what we see
We ask, with a subtle tone
of desperation,
Won’t you just stay as you are?
Our heart knowing
That upon their arrival
these moments are already slipping
through our fingers.
Knowing that
Everything we love,
Everything we find beautiful,
Everything,
Eventually falls away.
And yet we ask anyway
We ask because
We’re human
We ask because
as much as we want it to,
goodbye doesn’t always mean
I will see you again.
But mostly we ask because
it takes time and courage
to catch up
with the heart.
In the departures
There’s a sting
A grief for love’s loss
We feel it when we dare
to look
Seeing a reflection we don’t recognize
Asking, where is the person
I thought I was supposed to be?
The courage fades
And we look away
Hoping we’ll wake up
Into a dream
But when we open our eyes
We see
The great thread of impermanence
Is both
The arrivals
And the departures
And we finally accept
What the heart has known
All along.
Being alive
Really living
Means
To see
And experience
the bittersweet miracle
Of it all.
